“Evening by the River” at the KAA Member Showcase Show – copy

The image shows a framed artwork displayed on a windowsill. The artwork depicts dark tree branches with delicate leaves, set against a softly blended background of pastel colors - greens, yellows, and pinks.

Working in the Gallery K today (Keizer Art Association). Came to a nice surprise – all my framed pieces except this one have been sold! Enjoying the news and the beautiful show by Capitol Woodcarvers. Amazing skills, incredibly talented artists. The show will be up till October 28, come and see it if you haven’t yet!

A well-lit art gallery space featuring woodcarvings. The room has several gray display panels with wooden shelves attached, each holding various carved wooden sculptures and reliefs: detailed figures, animals, people, and decorative plaques.

Dropped “Black Lace” at Art Department for the 2025 Square Foot Art Show that runs till June 27. If you are an artist and never were there before, it’s a lovely independent art supply store at 254 Commercial Street NE, Salem, OR.

The reception will be this Saturday, June 6, 5-8 pm, but I won’t be able to attend – I will be doing demos at the Red Trillium Gallery June 6-8. Between colored pencil and pen and ink, I haven’t decided yet which one to demo, maybe both! I will also bring a few pieces that are not currently in the gallery, so come say hi and see more art.

Delicate Beginnings IV – Accidentally Discovered and Finally Finished

Delicate Beginnings IV – pen and ink on mixed media background, 5″ x 5″

A few years ago, I created a series of foal drawings for the Art for the Heart Gala at The Arts Center in Corvallis. One piece didn’t make it because I didn’t have enough time to meet the deadline, and since then I completely forgot about it.

Last year, as I was packing and sorting everything for the move to the new place, it briefly reminded about itself, but so much was happening at once that only now I finally had time to finish it. Just in time for the upcoming “Annual Color Show: Green” show at the Keizer Art Association!

This little foal is looking for a loving home. The rest of the series has been sold, but reproductions are available:
